Validation module
03 / 07Agentic Risk and Authorization
Probes what your autonomous agents are actually permitted to do, and what happens at the edge of that permission.
The problem
The rogue-agent problem is an authorization problem
An agent that holds credentials, calls tools and acts without a human in the path is a new kind of principal, and the failure modes are not model failures. They are authorization failures: an agent with broader permissions than its task requires; a confused deputy acting on instructions that arrived through data; privilege escalation assembled across a chain of individually permitted tool calls; a boundary between tenants or sessions that holds for the user interface but not for the agent beneath it.
These failures do not look like attacks in a log. They look like the agent doing its job. Without a tested authorization model, the first time anyone establishes an agent's real reach is during an incident.
How Veync tests it
Test the boundary, not the behaviour
Veync enumerates each agent's effective authority — not its configured permissions but what it can actually reach through its tools and chains — and then tests the boundary: attempting cross-tenant and cross-session access, escalating through tool chains, inducing action through injected data, and verifying that containment and revocation work when invoked.
What this module covers
- Permissions
- Authorization boundaries
- Scope confinement
- Excessive agency
- Confused-deputy abuse
- Privilege escalation through tool chains
- Cross-tenant boundaries
- Cross-session boundaries
- Tool-invocation abuse
- Unsafe autonomous action
- Blast-radius containment
- Kill-switch and revocation efficacy
What you receive
Effective authority, mapped and bounded
You receive a matrix of what each agent can genuinely reach, a trace for every boundary that was crossed, and a containment verdict per agent covering blast radius, kill-switch efficacy and whether revocation actually revokes.
An effective-authorization matrix
A trace for every boundary violation
A containment verdict per agent

Put this module to work
A validation briefing covers scope, the authorization you would sign, and the evidence this module would produce for your environment.
Named-vendor results and control-evasion evidence are shared under NDA, through the evidence annex.
